Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend)
  • 4 slices Smoky Turkey Bacon
  • 4 slices Plant-Based Cheese
  • 4 Soft Brioche Buns
  • 1 tbsp Vegetarian Worcestershire Sauce (natural)
  • 1 tsp Yellow Mustard (natural)
  • 1/4 cup Pickles, sliced
  • 1 leaf Fresh Lettuce per burger
  • 2 slices Fresh Tomato per burger
  • 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Chop the fresh lettuce and tomato. Crisp the turkey bacon in a skillet until golden and set aside. Slice the pickles. Keep the ground beef cold for easier shaping and better texture.
  2. Form the Patties: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions without over-handling. Roll each portion gently into a loose ball; these will be smashed flat during cooking to create the signature crust.
  3. Heat Your Pan or Griddle: Preheat a cast-iron skillet or flat griddle to medium-high heat. A hot cooking surface is essential for achieving crispy edges.
  4. Smash and Cook the Patties: Place each beef ball in the hot pan. Immediately press down firmly with a sturdy spatula or a heavy metal press until very thin. Cook for 2-3 minutes until edges brown and crisp, then flip and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Add Plant-Based Cheese and Bacon: Place a slice of plant-based cheese on each flipped patty and allow it to melt. Meanwhile, place the crispy turkey bacon slices on the bottom halves of the toasted brioche buns.
  6. Assemble the Burger: Spread vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) and yellow mustard (natural) on the top halves of the warm buns. Layer lettuce, tomato, pickles, the melted cheese patties, and turkey bacon on the bun bottoms. Top with the bun tops and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use a wide metal spatula to press and flip the patties without breaking them.
  • Handle ground beef gently to keep patties tender and not dense.
  • Ensure your pan is hot before adding patties for a perfect crust.
  • Cook patties thin and fast to achieve crispy edges.
  • Lightly butter and toast the buns on the griddle for extra flavor and structure.
