Easy to prepare and customizable, these tacos offer a light yet satisfying meal ideal for any day of the week.

Ingredients

Scale

Fish and Seasoning

  • 4 white fish fillets (cod or tilapia), about 6 ounces each
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (natural)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)

Tortillas and Vegetables

  • 8 corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup fresh cabbage or lettuce, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup fresh tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 avocado, sliced

Toppings and Extras

  • 1/2 cup plant-based cheese (plant-based)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons creamy sauce made with natural gelling agent (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fish: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels to remove moisture. Lightly coat each fillet with olive oil (natural). In a small bowl, combine paprika, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural). Rub this seasoning mix evenly over all sides of the fish fillets.
  2. Bake the fish: Arrange the seasoned fish fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they are spaced apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the edges become golden and crispy, providing a crunchy texture without greasiness.
  3. Prepare vegetables and tortillas: While the fish is baking, thinly slice the cabbage or lettuce and chop the fresh tomatoes. Slice the avocado into even pieces. Lightly warm the tortillas in a dry pan or in the oven until soft and flexible, making them easier to fold without cracking.
  4. Assemble the tacos: Lay the warm tortillas flat and layer each one with a portion of crispy baked fish, followed by fresh cabbage, chopped tomatoes, and a sprinkle of plant-based cheese (plant-based). Drizzle fresh lime juice over the ingredients to add brightness. Add avocado slices on top and, if desired, spoon over a creamy sauce made with natural gelling agent for extra flavor and smooth texture.

Notes

  • Pat dry the fish thoroughly to ensure a crispy coating.
  • Use fresh ground spices for more vibrant flavors.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking sheet to allow proper crisping.
  • Warm tortillas before assembly to improve flexibility and prevent cracking.
  • Enhance texture by adding toasted pumpkin seeds or nuts on top if preferred.
