Description

Delightful bite-sized Cake Pops combining moist plant-based cake crumbs with creamy plant-based frosting, coated in natural plant-based chocolate or candy melts, perfect for any celebration. Easy to customize with flavors and decorations, these treats are fun to make and enjoy for all skill levels.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 2 cups plant-based cake crumbs (any moist variety)
  • 1/2 cup plant-based frosting (to bind)

Coating and Decorations

  • 1 cup melted plant-based chocolate or natural candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon natural gelling agent (optional)
  • Natural sprinkles, crushed nuts, or edible colors (natural) for decoration
  • Lollipop or cake pop sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Cake: Bake your plant-based cake of choice and allow it to cool completely. Crumble the cake into fine pieces in a large bowl to create the perfect base for the pop.
  2. Mix in Frosting: Add a few tablespoons of plant-based frosting to the crumbled cake, mixing gently until the texture resembles dough and you can shape it without crumbling.
  3. Shape Into Balls: Using your hands or a small scoop, form the mixture into evenly sized balls, then place them on a lined tray and chill thoroughly for at least an hour to firm up.
  4. Dip and Decorate: Melt your natural coating in a warm bowl, then dip each cake ball on the stick into the coating, fully covering it. Let excess drip off and add sprinkles or other decorations immediately before setting.
  5. Set and Serve: Place your dipped Cake Pops upright in a foam block or stand to set properly. Chill again if needed for coating to harden before serving.

Notes

  • Chill thoroughly to prevent cake balls from falling apart during dipping.
  • Use room temperature coating for a smooth dip without cracking.
  • Use just enough frosting to bind; too much will make shaping difficult.
  • Tap off excess coating to avoid thick, uneven shells and drips.
  • Experiment with natural food colorings to match your theme or season.
