Description

Sticky Honey Garlic Cauliflower is a quick and easy plant-based dish featuring crispy roasted cauliflower florets coated in a luscious natural honey garlic glaze. This sweet, savory, and sticky recipe offers a perfect balance of textures and flavors, ideal as a main, side, or snack for family and friends. Ready in under 30 minutes, it is a nourishing, wholesome alternative that delights with a rich, sticky glaze enhanced by fresh garlic, natural soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and toasted sesame seeds.

Ingredients

Scale

Cauliflower and Roasting

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 2 tbsp plant-based oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Sticky Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 3 tbsp honey (natural)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (natural)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (natural)
  • 1 tsp natural gelling agent dissolved in 2 tbsp cold water

Garnish

  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prep the Cauliflower: Wash and chop the cauliflower into bite-sized florets. Pat dry thoroughly to ensure crispiness. Toss the florets with plant-based oil and sprinkle with salt to form a flavorful base.
  2. Roast or Air Fry: Spread the cauliflower evenly on a lined baking tray. Roast in a preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for about 20 minutes, turning halfway through for even golden crunch. Alternatively, air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 15 minutes, shaking the basket a couple of times to cook evenly.
  3. Make the Sticky Sauce: While the cauliflower cooks, whisk together honey (natural), minced garlic, soy sauce (natural), apple cider vinegar (natural), and the natural gelling agent dissolved in cold water. This creates a rich and sticky glaze packed with flavor.
  4. Combine and Simmer: Pour the sauce into a non-stick pan over medium heat and stir continuously as it thickens to a sticky consistency. Once thickened, toss the roasted cauliflower in the sauce until every floret is evenly coated with the glossy glaze.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Plate the sticky honey garlic cauliflower and finish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds for freshness and crunch. Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic to intensify the flavor and pair perfectly with the natural honey’s sweetness.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking tray to ensure even roasting and maximum crispiness.
  • Adjust the amount of natural gelling agent to control sauce thickness for a sticky but not syrupy glaze.
  • Use high heat for roasting to caramelize cauliflower edges and add depth to flavor.
  • Toss the cauliflower while warm to help the sauce cling beautifully and set quickly.
