Description

Garlic Butter Steak Bites With Crispy Potatoes is a delicious and comforting dish featuring tender sirloin or ribeye steak cubes seared to perfection alongside golden, crispy Yukon gold or red potatoes. Enhanced with smoky turkey bacon, fresh garlic, and a rich plant-based butter sauce infused with vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) and apple cider vinegar (natural), this recipe delivers bold flavors and perfect textures in under 30 minutes, ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak Bites

  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Potatoes and Bacon

  • 1 lb Yukon gold or red potatoes, washed and cubed evenly
  • 4 slices smoky turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Garlic Butter Sauce

  • 3 tbsp plant-based butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (natural)

Fresh Herbs and Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Potatoes: Wash and cube the potatoes evenly to ensure uniform cooking. Parboil in boiling water for about 5 minutes until slightly tender. Drain thoroughly and let them dry completely to ensure crispiness when pan-frying later.
  2. Cook the Turkey Bacon and Potatoes: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add turkey bacon pieces and cook until they are crispy and golden brown. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside. Add the parboiled potatoes to the skillet and cook in the remaining bacon fat and olive oil, turning carefully to develop a crispy golden crust on the outside while remaining tender inside.
  3. Sear the Steak Bites: Season the steak cubes generously with salt and black pepper. In a separate hot pan, heat olive oil and sear the steak bites in batches to avoid overcrowding, cooking each batch until a golden crust forms on all sides. Remove the steak bites from the pan and keep warm.
  4. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same pan used for searing steak, melt the plant-based butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and stir gently until fragrant, making sure garlic does not burn. Pour in the vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural) and apple cider vinegar (natural) to enrich the sauce, stirring to combine.
  5. Combine and Finish: Return the steak bites, crispy potatoes, and turkey bacon to the pan with the garlic butter sauce. Toss everything together, sprinkle with fresh rosemary and thyme, and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Let the flavors meld for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Choose tender cuts like sirloin or ribeye for juicy steak bites.
  • Pat steak bites dry before searing to achieve a perfect crust.
  • Cook steak bites in batches to avoid steaming and ensure even browning.
  • Add fresh garlic late in cooking to prevent bitterness and burning.
  • Keep potato cubes uniform in size for consistent crispiness and doneness.
  • Allow seared steak bites to rest briefly to lock in juices before tossing in sauce.
