Description

Cowboy Butter Chicken Linguine is a quick and indulgent dinner recipe combining tender chicken breast, smoky turkey bacon, and creamy plant-based cheese tossed in a rich, buttery natural sauce. Perfectly coated al dente linguine delivers a satisfying meal bursting with smoky, savory, and fresh herbal flavors, ideal for busy weeknights or whenever you want a hearty dish without hassle.

Ingredients

Protein & Meat

  • Chicken Breast, thinly sliced – 1 lb (about 450g)
  • Smoked Turkey Bacon – 6 slices

Pasta & Carbohydrates

  • Linguine Pasta – 12 oz (340g)

Butter & Cheese

  • Plant-Based Butter – 3 tbsp
  • Plant-Based Cheese (meltable) – 1 cup shredded or grated

Flavors & Sauces

  • Garlic Cloves, freshly minced – 3 cloves
  • Vegetarian Worcestershire Sauce (natural) – 2 tbsp
  • Grape Juice (natural) – 1/4 cup

Herbs & Spices

  • Fresh Parsley, chopped – 2 tbsp
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (optional) – 1/2 tsp or to taste
  • Salt – to taste
  • Black Pepper – to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Before draining, reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water to use in the sauce later.
  2. Cook the Smoked Turkey Bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the smoked turkey bacon until golden and crisp. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving some rendered fat in the pan for added flavor.
  3. Sauté the Chicken: Add the thinly sliced chicken breast to the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
  4. Build the Sauce: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the plant-based butter, minced garlic, and vegetarian Worcestershire sauce (natural). Pour in the grape juice (natural) and let the mixture simmer gently, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Return the cooked linguine and crispy turkey bacon to the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, gradually add reserved pasta water to achieve a silky consistency.
  6. Finish with Plant-Based Cheese and Parsley: Sprinkle the plant-based cheese over the pasta and stir gently until melted into the sauce. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and crushed red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use room temperature chicken for even cooking and juiciness.
  • Reserve pasta water to help create a smooth, clingy sauce.
  • Cook pasta al dente to maintain a perfect bite after tossing with sauce.
  • Add crushed red pepper flakes gradually to control the spice level.
  • Add fresh parsley at the end to preserve vibrant color and flavor.
